Born in Crisis → Proven by Impact → Preserved for Generations

From a moment of crisis emerged a movement of service. → From service grew impact. → From impact was born a legacy that continues to inspire the nation to unite, celebrate, and help each other.

2020:

A Crisis That Called for Action

Times Of India.png

When the pandemic struck, fear and uncertainty spread rapidly across communities in the United States. In response, the Founder of National INDIA HUB, Harish Kolasani, brought together 130+ organizations to form the Indian Task Force, stepping in where help was urgently needed by working closely with the Embassy and Consulates of India across the U.S.

Through a National Helpline, the Task Force provided healthcare coordination, shelter for stranded international students, food and essential supplies for families in need, emotional support, employment guidance, and most critically, emergency travel assistance for families across the U.S. who had nowhere else to turn.

Within the first two weeks of the pandemic, hundreds of volunteers came together to stitch thousands of masks, supporting healthcare heroes, first responders, and vulnerable populations at a time of extreme shortage

Service Without Borders

As the crisis deepened globally, the mission expanded beyond borders. During the devastating second wave in India, the INDIA HUB team mobilized critical medical resources, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and PPE worth over $1.7 million, received from hospitals, local government medical boards, medical groups and the community organizations. And shipped all the items at free of cost with the help of United Airlines.

What began as a local response became a global act of responsibility, compassion, and unity.

In parallel, INDIA HUB organized multiple vaccine drives in early 2021, serving thousands of vulnerable individuals at a time when COVID vaccines were scarce. These efforts served everyone regardless of race, powerfully demonstrating the selfless service of the Indian American community.

Stepping Forward and Government of India Recognition

In January 2021, INDIA HUB leased a 7,000 square-foot building at low cost to launch its first community center. This phase became a critical learning ground, shaping a deep understanding of what truly serves a community and what does not.

In December 2022, the selfless efforts carried out since 2010 through the NRI SEVA Foundation, along with the impact made during the pandemic, were formally recognized by the Government of India at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, honoring the INDIA HUB's Founder as an inspirational changemaker. This recognition affirmed that quiet service to over 370,000 individuals, driven by integrity and responsibility, can create meaningful change without seeking attention or credit.

Community Gives Back to Society

Service evolved from crisis response to civic engagement. Indian American adults and students came together through INDIA HUB to lead the Swachh America initiative, cleaning over 53 highways across the Greater Chicago area.

Along with several other service programs, this initiative symbolized unity, pride, and shared responsibility toward the larger American community.

2024:

A Permanent Home for the Community

What began as a response during the pandemic became a permanent institution.

INDIA HUB purchased a 107,000 square-foot corporate property, valued at over $60 million, for less than 10 percent of its value, located at the core of Greater Chicago with extensive parking. Zoning approvals enabled a wide range of activities, including senior recreation, a charity clinic, social services, cultural development, youth programs, family recreation, childcare, and large community events.

Built and operated by 100 percent volunteers, without politics, personal agendas, or egos, National INDIA HUB emerged as a trusted home for healthcare support for individuals without insurance, a second home for seniors, a center for culture and education, a launchpad for students with ideas, and a hub for passionate volunteers.

During this period, INDIA HUB conducted numerous health fairs, blood drives, job fairs, and social service programs, offered five language classes, 44 dance classes, and three music classes every week, and launched the largest permanent Indian Flag outside India, capturing deep emotion and pride for everyone of Indian origin who experiences it in person.

2025

Proven Impact Without Fundraising

By December 28, 2025, National INDIA HUB had achieved everything it stood for without a single fundraiser or donation drive. Supported through the vision of Founding Trustees and fully self-sustaining programs, it grew into what is recognized as the world’s largest Indian community center, serving over 100,000 individuals annually through 150+ partner organizations.

The community that witnessed this impact now owns INDIA HUB with love, respect, and pride.

During this time, INDIA HUB became home to multiple ethnic communities without borders, created a that became international runner-up champion in robotics, ranking among the best out of 12,000+ teams globally, and received the Best FLL Coach award in the world. It also became home to 38 dance and music schools and provided free space for mental health support groups, sexual assault victim support groups, domestic abuse survivor programs, Reflexology center, Homeopathy clinic and Charity Clinic to support people who cannot afford current health insurance.

Today, the journey continues with a clear purpose: to protect what was built through service and ensure it serves generations to come.

National INDIA HUB now inspires the creation of community centers across the United States, spreading a model rooted in unity, celebration, compassion, and mutual support.

Initiated the One Voice, One Message Movement: To address recent negative media narratives, National India Hub, in partnership with 150+ community, social, and cultural organizations, launched the One Voice, One Message movement to educate the mainstream about the positive impact of Indian Americans, guide recent immigrants from India to respect the American system and conduct themselves responsibly in public, and empower future generations to grow with pride.

Always engaged elected officials to encourage greater civic participation among Indian Americans and to highlight the positive impact the community makes on society.

The Charity Clinic has expanded from Sundays to Saturdays beginning January 2026, further strengthening access to care for those in need.

A Movement, Not Just a Moment

Born in crisis - Strengthened through impact - Preserved as a legacy.

National INDIA HUB stands as a living example of what communities can achieve when they unite without borders, celebrate together, and help each other selflessly.
